THE DESIGNER

An award winning design student in South Korea, after graduation, Sunhee Hwang attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York where she was a recipient of the American Design Critics Award. After being recruited by Alber Elbaz to work at Geoffrey Beene, Sunhee went on to Anna Sui, Elie Tahari, and Anne Klein as a Senior Designer and Vice President of Design at Jones New York.

Sunhee launched her first collection in 2001, which sold to Barneys New York, Jeffery, Big Drop, and other boutiques in New York. After she was recruited as a Senior Designer at Anne Klein, for the second time she launched her collection for Fall/Winter 2011 and participated in Pret a Porter in Paris and sold to online website Top Shop in London, Israel, and Turkey.

Sunhee had a Spring/Summer 2011 show and was selected as a finalist and Woman's Wear Designer 2012 from Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation.
